A kindling cracker ad appeared in my facebook feed, which i thought was decent. I tried to search the forum, but did not find any reviews from friends and acquaintances who used it. I've been thinking about building a firebox splitter so the kids can help with the housework, which looks promising. Has anyone used it or heard good reviews?

If my memory serves me, the girl from australia who designed this did it like school project or something like that. Like this, and here she was getting some input in her design and marketing. . . But i could be wrong.

This is absolutely everything i saw when i searched here. But i have not seen reviews from friends and acquaintances who bought it. My main method of making kindling is with an axe, and buying a 48 ounce hammer without impact to strike the ax to drive the structure into the wood. This is a relatively safe method, but forum crack i was looking for something safer for kids. I've been using this same method for a number of years, and incidentally i was taught by a boy scout leader when i was in the scouts, with the only difference being that the player used a hatchet to make a handle on the end of a small log to apply the structure as a hammer. I have never harmed myself in this way, and i am sure that with my children everything will remain normal, but who knows.

If i hadn't bought a little electrical splitter that i put in my driveway, i would have bought a kindling splitter a long time ago. I no longer hold what i swing an ax against. Yes, probably someone's shirt...

Yes, i got one from northern tool. Just the perfect tool to get the job done. You are interested in a small sledgehammer to hammer defects in the cracker... The 3 lb hammer suggested for the northern tool is fine. Very easy and no worries about losing fingers or nasty cuts.I screwed/bolted the cracker to the log i use for kindling, and finished with a bucket on top to keep the cracker from freezing (spray wd40 occasionally to keep it from rusting). Can't believe how damn easy it is to apply and how damn easy it is to create a pile of kindling.
Switch signature hearthstone mansfield, stihl ms250c and true temper ax to help feed it.

I use my 5 ton electric wood splitter for kindling. It's easy to use, and counts my kids as well.

I just put a big box under my gas faucet, it collects all the shavings and streaks, then i toss the bag into an old 230 gallon plastic bin with the hole cut to the side. If i needed kindling, i would just include an additional splitter.
